Message from the Cristo Rey RT Principal
I am excited to serve as the founding principal of this exceptional school. The first Cristo Rey High School was established in Chicago in 1996 to provide students and families with limited economic means access to Catholic education, creating a model that is uniquely effective at preparing students for success in college and the workplace. There are now nearly forty Cristo Rey Schools across the country, and their 18,000 alums have graduated from college at three times the rate of their peers.
At Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School, we are joining this national movement to bring high-quality education to students of all faiths. In keeping with the Cristo Rey tradition, we offer a values-based educational program to develop the whole person. Our students have opportunities to participate in rigorous college preparatory academics, athletics, arts, community service, and corporate work study. These experiences cultivate students’ organizational, communication, and self-advocacy skills and instill the confidence needed for success in college and the workforce.
Our faculty and staff are committed to the growth and success of every student. Our students learn in a safe, caring environment where they are supported by adults invested in knowing them as individuals and challenging them to be their best selves. In this context, our students become people of faith, purpose, and service and graduate ready to transform their lives and communities.
