Job Description

Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School is hiring a Campus Minister who is committed to the Ignatian spiritual formation and faith development of the school community. In this full-time, ten-month position, the Campus Minister is responsible for supporting the administration in developing and maintaining activities and programs outside of the classroom that deepen and expand the school’s Jesuit identity. Specifically, the Campus Minister provides comprehensive school-wide spiritual programming to all students, including school worship experiences, retreats, and community service opportunities. In addition to teaching two classes the Campus Minister is responsible for the overall faith formation program, which includes but is not limited to:

Campus Ministry

  • Direct the four-year student retreat program, including Kairos, grade-level, and special-focus retreats to support students in deepening their relationships with God, Jesus, self, and one another.
  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate school liturgies, especially all-school and small-group Masses, Baccalaureate Mass, and Reconciliation services; ensure student and staff involvement, liturgical music, and a variety of priests to preside.
  • Direct the CRRT four-year, student formation program in the Graduate at Graduation values.
  • With the President and Principal, actively support adult formation in Ignatian identity and the Catholic faith, including through staff retreats, adult formation groups, and related programming.
  • Direct and develop student peer ministry groups.
  • Plan and oversee school prayer, including at assemblies, in the daily Examen, and seasonal prayer experiences.
  • Enlist and oversee staff and faculty involvement in campus ministry on retreats, in liturgies, and at service outings.
  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere in which community members of all faiths and backgrounds are inclusively engaged and understand they are cared for, and valued parts of God’s creation.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, the dean of student culture, and other staff focused on wellness and mental health to minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of the school community.
  • Coordinate all logistics for campus ministry events to ensure adequate staffing, resources, and facilities, the safety of participants, compliance with laws and requirements, and clear communication and coordination.
  • Manage the campus ministry budget to ensure the school has liturgical supplies, retreat facilities, contracted programming personnel, and other essential resources for strong ministry and service programming.

Community Service 

  • Design and implement programming centered on “a faith that does justice.”
  • Ensure high-quality community service programming for students; support all students in meeting the annual community service requirement.
  • Enlist and help coordinate faculty and staff participation on community service trips.
  • Ensure strong logistical operations of community service events to ensure the safety of participants, compliance with laws and expectations, and clear communication and coordination.

 

Qualifications:

 Successful applicants will embody mission commitment, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, and optimism. In addition, they will meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a major, minor, or comparable credential verifying expertise in campus ministry
  • Experience supporting faith formation and desire for ongoing growth in Ignatian spirituality and the Catholic faith.
  • Record of success with teenage students in ministry, community service, and/or student life
  • Proficiency in using technology to plan, communicate, and enhance student programming.
  • Strong organizational capacity, detail orientation, and interpersonal intelligence
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment 

Reports To: President

Primary Functions: The Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment plays the crucial role of recruiting, admitting, and enrolling new and transfer students at Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School and is responsible for meeting the annual enrollment goal set by the President and the Executive Leadership Team. As the first point of contact for many students, parents, and community members, the position requires both a commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey – and a particular passion for expanding our unique program to underserved students – and an ability to build community and develop and manage relationships with local schools, organizations, churches, and community leaders. The position manages the daily operations of the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Department and the planning and development of all recruiting and admissions-related matters. The Director articulates the mission, programs, and opportunities of Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School to students, parents/guardians, elementary/middle school educators, principals and counselors, and other gatekeepers and thought leaders in the community. She/he must be able to adapt to changing responsibilities and maintain absolute confidentiality.

Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School is an affordable Catholic high school located in Durham, North Carolina. Our mission is to deliver a career-focused college preparatory education for students with limited economic resources. We provide a unique educational experience by integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of real-world work experience. In our third year of operation, we are growing from grades 9-11 and 210 students to serving 400 students in grades 9-12 and a robust graduate support program. While we currently have a $4.5 million budget, we expect to have a projected $8 million budget at full enrollment. 

 

Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School is part of an expanding national Cristo Rey Network where each student works one day per week in an entry-level corporate job to develop professional skills while earning half the cost of their education. There are currently 39 Cristo Rey Network high schools across the country, with additional schools coming. Collectively, our schools serve over 12,000 students in grades 9-12 and have over 28,000 graduates. The Network goal is for 70% of graduates to achieve a college degree within six years of high school graduation. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

▪ Understand, embrace, and implement the school’s mission and philosophy as written in the Mission Effectiveness Standards, participate in the faith life of the school; and model the school’s philosophy in working with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. 

▪ Build external relationships designed to recruit students who fit the Cristo Rey student profile with Catholic, public, charter, and other private elementary and middle/junior high schools in surrounding areas as well as with community organizations, employers, groups, and nonprofits serving youth and parents. 

▪ Represent Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School to potential students and their families at high school fairs, expos, church services, community fairs, and other community gatherings, often with representatives of the school community such as student ambassadors. 

▪ Communicate the mission and value of the school to the community and external stakeholders through a variety of mediums in collaboration with the Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant, Marketing and Communications Manager, and Director of Development, as appropriate. 

▪ Staff management: lead the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Department which includes regularly reporting to the president and to the Board, conducting effective team meetings and one-on-ones, providing subject matter expertise and support to direct reports, setting, and managing the annual budget. 

▪ Develop, maintain, and manage year-long Student Recruitment and Enrollment plans that integrate ongoing, multi-level efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders while balancing ongoing recruitment efforts with time-sensitive enrollment tasks. 

▪ Manage and collaborate with the Recruitment & Enrollment Coordinator and Marketing and Communications Manager to develop marketing strategies, especially with the design of promotional materials and use of social media. 

▪ Organize, oversee, and participate as appropriate in the interview and admissions process which includes coordinating with faculty, Corporate Work Study staff, school leadership, and prospective students and their families to ensure a timely, smooth, and effective admissions process. 

▪ Plan, execute, and garner internal and external engagement in school ambassadorial programs such as Open Houses, Shadow Days, and other promotional events. 

▪ Provide superior customer service by maintaining timely communication in Spanish & English with prospective students and their families. 

▪ Assist families through the financial aid process, including the completion of income verification and the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship application and annual enrollment. 

▪ Share with the Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant the responsibility for maintaining databases and assembling admissions-related materials for mailings to schools and prospective students, sending out mailings. 

▪ Model appropriate and ethical behavior and professionalism for the student population. 

▪ Support Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant with the school’s Ambassadors Program for students and parents. 

▪ Manage and prepare comprehensive, data-driven reports about recruitment, enrollment and retention for the President and Board of Directors as well as the Cristo Rey Network. 

▪ Attend and participate in Cristo Rey Network programs and professional development for Recruitment & Enrollment Directors or Assistant Directors or other programs as directed by the President. 

▪ The schedule is flexible as some nights and weekends are required. 

▪ Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the President. 

 

Experience Requirements 

▪ Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred. 

▪ At least 5 years in recruitment, enrollment services, non-profit management, marketing, student services, or related fields. 

▪ Bilingual preferred. 

▪ Proven track record of building relationships with multiple, community-based stakeholders. 

▪ Demonstrated ability to analyze admissions data and the admissions funnel and to incorporate that data into strategy.

Job Title: Student Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant 

Reports To: Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment

Primary Functions: The Student Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Student Recruitment & Enrollment Department and Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School families throughout the recruitment and enrollment process of a student. The Student Recruitment and Enrollment Assistant reports directly to the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment. 

 

The Student Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant plays an important role by providing administrative support to Student Recruitment & Enrollment Office and participating in all recruitment and enrollment-related activities including database management, direct mail appeals, open houses, and special events. The Student Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant is expected to provide outstanding customer service to prospective and current school families, trustees, alumni and other school community members, in-person, on the telephone and via electronic communication. He or she is expected to also have the basic information necessary to answer frequently asked questions to better serve school community members with various inquiries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

▪ Document support – collects and maintains accurate records (i.e., transcripts, teacher recommendations) for each applicant using both electronic and hard copy information us. 

▪ Schedule meetings, tours, and interviews with prospective families for Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment. 

▪ Maintains all Student Recruitment and Enrollment Department statistics and reports. 

▪ Works closely with the school website to ensure all Student Recruitment and Enrollment webpage content is current, accurate, and represents the Cristo Rey RT High School profile. 

▪ Data entry and maintenance of master list of prospectives 5th – 8th grade students from all feeder schools to send Open House invitations. 

▪ Supporting families through the NC Opportunity Scholarship process and reporting. 

▪ Responsible for creating the master visit calendar which enables prospective students to select a visit day using their online account. 

▪ Greets visitors and/or parents and assists with the check-in and check-out process. 

▪ Work with the Director of student Recruitment and Enrollment and monitors the progress of families as they move through the interview process to keep the interviews on schedule. 

▪ Prepares applicant file data from OPEN APPLY and supporting documentation (teacher recommendations, transcripts, etc.) for student selection. This information is to be reviewed by the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment, Recruitment and Enrolment Committee, and key Administrators. 

▪ Coordinates official response letters to prospective students as directed by the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment. 

▪ Maintain inventory of admission materials, applications, publications, and letterhead as well as prepared admissions information packets. 

▪ Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Recruitment & Enrollment. 

 

Experience Requirements 

▪ High energy and passion for the Cristo Rey mission is essential. 

▪ Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field. 

▪ A minimum of three years' experience in an administrative position, and/or admissions office.

Primary Functions: The Director of Development is responsible for leading the Development and Communications teams to achieve the annual fundraising goal of approximately $2.0 million and external communications. The Director of Development is an experienced major gifts fundraiser, stewarding a portfolio of individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Director of Development formulates a dynamic plan to secure new sources of support by accessing and identifying financial needs in the school, researching potential funders, and composing case statements and unique funding proposals. The Director of Development serves as a key liaison to stakeholders including individuals, community organizations, corporations, and foundations invested in Cristo Rey Research Triangle’s success.

Fundraising Responsibilities: 

▪ Direct a comprehensive fundraising program for an annual goal of approximately $2.0 million including Annual and Capital. 

▪ Work closely with the President on major and principal donor strategies. 

▪ Prepare and pitch proposals for funding by individual donors and foundations and explore creative, multi-year requests; 

▪ Work closely with the Director of Corporate Work Study to engage current and prospective job partners with the philanthropic activities of Cristo Rey. 

 

Communication Responsibilities 

▪ Develop and implement a strategy to continuously raise the school’s profile in the Research Triangle across mediums in collaboration with the Communication Manager. 

▪ Develop and implement comprehensive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for all donors. 

▪ Steward a portfolio of major donors and ensure they are engaged in the work of Cristo Rey through creative impact reports, thoughtful acknowledgments, and personal interactions. 

▪ Collaborate with the leadership team to provide content for and input on publications, newsletters, and marketing materials, as well as ensure the messaging and branding of all communications and event activities meet high standards. 

 

Administrative Responsibilities 

▪ Work closely with the President to set fundraising goals that are approved by the Board of Directors and accomplish goals against monitored expenses. 

▪ Build annual expense budget for all development functions and monitor expenses throughout the year. 

▪ Provide support to the President in areas of board reporting and board member identification and recruitment. 

▪ Staff all meetings in the Development Committee of the Board of Directors. 

▪ Participate in Cristo Rey Network meetings and events as necessary and represent Cristo Rey Research Triangle at conferences, meetings, and events. 

▪ Hire and manage a professional fundraising team responsible for the calendar of appeals, individual, corporate, and foundation proposals, scholarship management, relationship building, database management, stewardship, communications, and special event fundraising. 

▪ Provide guidance, leadership, and direction, including clearly defined performance expectations, and encourage professional development for the development team. 

▪ Utilize CRM system to track and plan all donor interactions and file correspondence as appropriate. Ensure that the CRM system is properly maintained, and gift acknowledgments are timely. 

▪ Collaborate with the Business Office to ensure accurate record-keeping for audit and reporting purposes. 

▪ Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the President. 

 

Experience Requirements 

▪ High energy and passion for the Cristo Rey mission are essential. 

▪ Understanding of the various social and professional networks within the Research Triangle 

▪ Professional experience in a non-profit organization; demonstrated success in advancement and development managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources. 

▪ Proven experience in building new relationships and cultivating existing relationships. 

▪ Demonstrated experience in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting stewarded individual gifts, foundation grants, and $100,000 and above gifts. 

▪ Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships. 

▪ Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic development plans to secure fundraising for operations and capital improvements. 

▪ Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail. 

▪ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 

▪ Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprinting is required.

Qualifications
Successful candidates must:
  • Have a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Complete and maintain updated criminal and children's protective clearance before hire.
  • Be able to provide DMV records.
  • Be authorized to work legally in the U.S.
  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Be available for morning and afternoon shifts, Monday – Friday.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:
  • Experience working with High School students and a diverse student population
  • Experience with a GPS.
  • A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transports students in compliance with all safety regulations and rules of the road as established by the state of North Carolina
  • Shifts can be set as morning, afternoon, or split shifts, so PERFECT for part-time or retired persons.
  • Picks students up from designated bus stops and brings them to school. (6:15-7:45 a.m.)
  • Takes students to and from work (8:15-10:00 a.m.) (2:00– 4:00 p.m.)
  • Drops students off at designated bus stops (4:00-5:00 p.m.)
  • Adhere to strict time schedules and routes for boarding, dropping off, and picking up students from neighborhoods and Corporate Partners as directed by the Manager.
  • Submits to and passes appropriate background checks and drug/alcohol testing as deemed appropriate
