Hire A Student Team

At Cristo Rey, we believe every student deserves equal opportunities, regardless of their economic background. Our mission is to provide a private, college preparatory high school education to students from families with limited financial means who wouldn't have access otherwise. We achieve this through a unique approach that combines classroom learning with real-world work experience in corporate offices throughout the Triangle, focusing on downtown Durham.

Our flagship program featuring Corporate Work Study experience sets us apart. Students work five days a month in entry-level, professional jobs, not only funding the majority of their education but also gaining invaluable business skills and confidence. They work in teams of four, excelling in real white-collar positions with our partners. These partners serve as mentors and coaches, investing directly in our students' future and empowering the next generation of business leaders.

Companies contract with the Corporate Work Study Program for full-time, entry-level jobs. Cristo Rey students are employees of the CWS, not the Corporate Partner. Thus, the Corporate Partner pays an annual fee to the CWS, not the student.

  • Four students share one job, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., from August-June.
  • Students rotate their schedules, each working five full days a month.
  • Academic schedules are structured so that students never miss class.
